Paris, France – Creating the essential pieces of a woman’s wardrobe is what has motivated Australian-born designer Martin Grant. His new signature collection for Fall Winter 2014/15 focuses on just that. And with creations from daywear to evening, his pure lines do not disappoint.
The elegance of Martin Grant is always laid with beautiful fabrics. This season he works with silk brocade, wool, mohair, crepe, wool-felt, wool-mohair, beaver and taffeta. The wool-mohair blends are repeated in several silhouettes. One of course is the simple, but beautiful collarless coat in with leather piping.
Bustier forms, skinny belts and large collars are staples in the collection. Though the collection – which features Grant’s signature pure lines – is done on a black and gold backdrop, he drops in a little grey here and surprises with dramatic fuchsia.
Volume appears in the corolla skirts. The bustier used in skirt ensembles and in the pantsuit is a sexy as it is well constructed. This latter is gorgeous, belted and is done in black crepe. The belt is also a unifying element in the collection as it appears in nearly all of the silhouettes.
The little black dress is a short version of the gown with open back and spaghetti straps. It is a short version of the to-die-for gown!
Every woman needs the right pair of shoes for her perfect dress. So the house of Martin Grant has created the perfect high heels in collaboration with Christian Leboutin. Once you have made your choice of ensemble, then you may have your shoes custom made in the same fabrics. Of course, special order applies.
