Lisbon, Portugal – Carlos Gil presents a very smooth edge for his new Fall Winter 2015/16 collection. This season he is really working with natural tones including Pine green, olive, tan, stripes, and mustard to be able to reinforce the emergence of both the Gil woman and man. He portrays them as beings that are comfortably chic and stylish without being over dressed.
The shoulder work for the women is very strong. There is always the notion of the bare shoulder vs. the single covered shoulder. He does this in both the pants and the dresses. He therefore spoils us with nice jumpsuits such as the sleeveless number in black and also another in green.
The men’s silhouettes are just as strong if not stronger than the women’s looks. The designer is creating lots of doubled-breasted looks. However, there are no visible buttons. The shoulders are strong and the lapels are large. One can only wonder in appreciation and admiration for the way he couples them with short-cropped trousers.
