New York City, USA – Custo Barcelona presented its new Spring-Summer 2016 collection at New York’s Pier 59. Titled “Slow”, the house brought to New York Fashion Week the much expected dose of colorful prints, knits and pre-requisite excitement.
Entirely produced in the house’s home ateliers in Spain, they say of it, “
With Slow, Custo Barcelona celebrates the colorful, eclectic, one-of-a-kind personality of a woman who is unique and has her own rebellious style. The key proposals are muscular patchwork garments, dresses, coats, jackets, tops, tunics and pants featuring organic cuts inspired by ergonomics and puzzles. These pieces play on their muscular shapes, marked off with contrast stitching and gaps that emerge when they are joined, defying the conventional.”
The collection features fabrics composed of blond lace and open-knit mesh. They are used in a way that allows for the skin to be revealed, thus respecting the need to be free during the hot months of summer. They compose short, revealing and sexy looks. These looks done against a natural color palette of petal pink, emerald green, violet, white gardenia, mauve, fuchsia, lime, lemon, Mediterranean blue and tangerine come together harmoniously in the pieces.
