Paris, France – Suzanne Syz is unlike most any other designer who specializes in making fine jewelry. With an inventive spirit, she actually started jewelry making for very personal reasons. The motivating factor was that she could not find pieces of jewelry that suited her own tastes. So she started studying in a Swiss atelier and learned to do it herself. That since of purpose and determination has resulted in a fine jewelry line that brings a new dimension to the field.
Part pop-art and part art deco, Suzanne Syz has created for the Fall Winter 2015/16 a collection that in many ways is unlike anything we’ve seen before. She works with titanium, precious stones, pearls, gold and diamonds. The titanium provides a base material that is strong and sturdy, and yet incredibly light. With it she has created some truly darling pieces. Among them are a large bracelet with large flat stones. These flat stones are actually unpolished diamond slivers ! The titanium is used in her rings and in the skeleton of some of her larger earrings that require such metallic strings to hold them together, while allowing for them to maintain a high level of flexibility.
In one set of earrings a multitude of diamonds, pearls and other precious elements are required in order to bring the piece from her imagination and into the physical world. But this challenge and the many others that go into creating such as collection do not intimidate the Suzanne Syz. Rather she embraces this noble mission and relishes in each step that brings her work closer to physical form.
