Novi Sad, Serbia – Entering the catwalks of the Serbia Fashion Week for the first time is Antwerp-based, Austrian designer Flora Miranda. This writer discovered her work six months ago at the Fashion Clash in Maastricht, The Kingdom of the Netherlands. She dazzled then. And by adding more pieces to the collection, this time her work sizzles!
Her collection is somewhat historic for Serbia. Never before had such a designer presented in the country. Her work with micro loops is astounding. She uses them and intermixes and intertwines them with her leather and ripped silks.Black and blues are what opens the collection. But then she goes further with her work with pale gray and colorful silks. Even though one has to have a strong personality to wear her contemporary space-age designs, she makes them look resolutely desirable and believable by today’s standards and tastes.
Flora Miranda is truly a rising star in international fashion. After studying at the legendary Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, she eventually went on to train at Iris van Herpen. There she further perfected her technique. And now possesses the technical skills that are prerequisite to bringing such unique fashions from the sketch book to the catwalk!
