Novi Sad, Serbia – Fresh from a very successful showing in Ukraine is the ready-to-wear designer Kateryna Karol. She went to Serbia after much anticipation and presented a solid collection defined by shapes and proportions. The designer is working primarily with silk, linen and jersey. The bodice of her sleeveless, corseted tops are draped, while the trousers are all voluminous. Though there are several above the knee cut dresses, maxi lengths dominated the skirts.
Variety is created for the arms. The story here is told with sleeveless, half-sleeves, three-quarter length sleeves and anything in between them. The materials are chosen so that they flow with the women’s body movement. Skin is generally revealed in the upper portion of the silhouette.
The collection is commercial enough to be extremely friendly for sales. Yet it is stylish enough to be considered as contemporarily fashionable.
