Tel Aviv, Israel – The new Rimma Romano collection for Spring/Summer 2016 is simple, straight to the point and easy to understand. Though the designer is working a bit with silk, it is without a doubt the work with the leather that gets top billing.
Rimma Romano is clearly skilled at leather crafting. The particular leathers used in this collection appear to be more suited for making coats and jackets. However the designer uses them in the dresses as well. The technical savoir-faire and patience needed to make it work is there. It is visible in the way the material falls on the models. It is more evident as it remains nearly smooth on the silhouette as the model moves through space and through time.
Rimma Romano could have taken the easy way out buy using a stretch leather. That would have been an even better choice to be perfectly honest. However, the fact that the designer chose the harder path is a testament to her serious skills in leather crafting and designing.
