London, UK – The new collection by British designer Oliver Spencer highlights the designer’s innate strengths. Here we find a collective of silhouettes that ooze of natural materials and masculinity. He calls upon black, rust, tobacco, stripes, hound’s tooth, blue, grape, gray and patchwork in order to form the deep color palette.
The wool, knits, suede, velvets, etc. are the construction materials with which loose-fitting trousers and tops are made. Some of the latter are fitted while others are sleeveless. The styling is very simple too, yet direct. It easily helps one to see how translatable the collection is directly from the catwalk to the street.
Oliver Spencer chooses only practical accessories too. In this Fall Winter 2016/17 work, he has chosen only to champion oversized scarves, hats, travel bags and eyewear. Again, he is driving home the idea of a simple and masculine line for the season, and that is absolutely free of pretentious excessiveness.
