Barcelona, Spain – This season was the 40th edition of the MODAFAD show, a catwalk that features emerging fashion designers. Once again they made a great selection of two designers. The first one to show was Samuel Alarcón (the finalist of MODAFAD Fashion Awards 2015), and the second designer was Enric Martí (the winner of the last edition of the MODAFAD Fashion Awards 2015). They both showed completely different collections and knew exactly how to impress the public.
Samuel Alarcón goes for a sporty/casual style with layered knitted sweaters, calve high socks, and ropes that are used as belts. However, there is also a feminine touch to be found with shimmer elements, large ruffles and even a male model wearing a dress. The colors are relatively dark with a motive of navy blue and black, but with bright colors such as red popping up every now and then. All in all, a nicely cohesive collection with comfortable yet unique designs that will be keeping us warm all winter!
Second up was Enric Martí, who has a somewhat more colorful and upbeat approach to his Fall Winter 2016/17 collection. We can see lots of brightly colored trench coats, dresses, velvet suits and culottes. Other returning motives are off-shoulder designs, ruffles, patched details and the glittery hair of the models: feminine and fun. Above all, our compliments go out to the brilliant styling of the collection with daring color combinations and sophisticated layering. A great energy and an even better collection!
