Novi Sad, Serbia – In this new outing by the French couturier Eymeric François, we see the arrival of his deadly new collection, GEISHA. Replete with his fine cuts and impossibly tight waistlines, the couturier brought to the Serbia Fashion Week the blessings of Parisian couture.
The Geisha is reinterpreted through a skilful play on the kimono. We see bits and flashes of it reinterpreted in a very modern way before finally being westernized. The neck, arms and parts of the legs are renewed at times but not all at once.
A long bustier is cut to make even the most modest of busts voluptuous. And at the same time they make the waist smaller and smaller.
A rare moment in this collection comes in the presentation of fur. Eymeric François is not really known for using this material. However, here it is to our general surprise. It blends in well with the jacquard in black and gold, with the long trailing skirt and other pieces such as the matching bolero top in this black and gold.
