Lodz, Poland – The new collection by Tiger of Sweden focuses on the vertical, with clever mixing of style for Spring/Summer 2017.
With an obvious clash between the new and old school, the minimalism vs. maximalism becomes extremely visible on the catwalk. One can see rich, decorative prints inspired by baroque, even rococo motifs in architecture. The master design itself is sleek, even simple and thus creates a statuesque silhouette. There’s some playing with the volumes, and lengths. Elongated tops are paired with cropped jackets, while skin-tight tops are combined with wide legged trousers.
The retro influences are clashed with modern sporty touches,. The clothes may be sharply tailored, but create freedom of movement.
Tiger of Sweden places on the catwalk one can find windbreakers, double-breasted jackets, bombers, suits, above the knee wide shorts, vests, long coats, trousers, poplin shirts, sweatshirts and vests. The clothes are in solid colors or in printed jaquards in earthy tones or in striking, colorful stripes. Details worth mentioning are the high, substantial zippers; double vents; and the trousers are a little high-waisted and the different length in sleeves, sometimes made out of different fabrics.
To add some boyish charm the sets are combined with white sneakers and white high socks. The collection is full of contrast, suitable for the tastes of many men out there from those seeking retro influences to those needing a little bit of lush.
