Lodz, Poland – Marni has a somewhat odd approach to the neat minimalistic silhouette. This is what we find throughout the Spring/Summer 2017 collection.
One can find a multitude of strange elements in this collection with details like abstract prints, various lengths and wacky color combinations. An innovative approach is added with cuts and slits on backs of coats and jackets. The clothes come together with panels, stripes and buckles. On the catwalk one can find baggy, voluminous styles with trousers cut above the ankle, shirts, leather coats, suits, shorts and sweatshirts. The boxy shape is exaggerated, with elongated lines and added straps and cut off’s.
The accessories include chunky sandals, lace ups, ties, bags, belts and eyewear. The color palette is in sage, white, blue, burgundy, tans, orange, khaki and red. The fabrics used is an innovative mix of synthetic and natural fibres. Retro style clothing gets an out of this world futuristic vibe. The end result is thought out as it exercises the brain with a more intellectual and abstract sense of men’s fashion.
