Milan, Italy – When viewing a collection by fashion house Les Hommes, one automatically expects to find perfection. It manifests itself in a wide variety of ways that include strong compositions, great proportions, a vivacity of aesthetics and a superiorty of cuts. These are all normalcies at Les Hommes.
In the house’s new collection for the Fall Winter 2017/18 season, we see the aformentioned qualities present. To them one must add the tailoring skills of the house’s founders and artistic directors, Bart Vandebosch and Tom Notte. This results in cuts of exquisite refinement that are used in the composition of not only the suits, but also of the other pieces and that extend to the outerwear.
This season Notte and Vandebosch have brought together their traditional base of black with strong blue and red tones. They are applied to the suits, the sweaters, the jackets, coats, etc. The proportions are reasonable in both the more sleek city wear and in the more urbanly inspired streetwear pieces. Though the outerwear is comfortably ample, there is no oversizing in the actual cuts, notwithstanding the generously cut collars. The materials of wool, leather, knit and shearling composed this dark opus of style. And Les Hommes uses silvery zippers and geometric metallic studs to embellish these boldly masculine looks. The zippers are made even more brilliant once placed upon the jet black materials. They bring emphasis to the pockets, the legs and the necklines.
Les Hommes offers many accessories this season too. Among them are the dark eyewear, boots, gloves and backpacks. The gloves are in the style of motorcyle gear and rise up the forearms. This creates a nice visual when paired with the suits blazers. And finally we see that the house is pushing lots of silvery earrings. In their vision, men will wear a multitude of various shapes only in the right ear.
