Paris, France – This writer really likes what he is seeing at the presentation of the new men’s collection at French fashion house, Agnes B. The aesthetic is so appealing. This is due to the nature of its clever mix of relaxed cuts and to how they relate to the current real needs and desires of today’s city dwellers.
Agnes B. has called up tweeds, knits, denims, cotton, cotton jersey, wool, etc. as the construction materials upon which she has built this story. The collection starts with strong active sportswear and weekend wear. The trousers are extremely slim cut to the leg in some pieces, while having a loose fit in others such as the jersey pants. They are oftentimes paired with textured tops likes knit sweaters and the faux turtlenecks. As the blazers have sartorial tailoring, when worn they make the wearer look cool, comfortable, relaxed and well dressed, but without overdoing it!
Many are the pieces in this collection that could be anyone’s random favorites. However as easy as it may sound, this writer’s favorite pieces are found in the coats. My money is on the slimming and tailored trench coat done in gray wool felt. It fits in easily into any wardrobe. In fact it really is the must-have piece for having a very content wardrobe for winter.
Agnes B. finishes out the collection on an elegant note. She introduces her tuxedos and formal looks with tails. These looks are in all black: shirts, ties, eyewear, etc.
