Madrid, Spain – A timeless concept is the main thread throughout the Fall/ Winter 2017 collection of Andrés Sardá. And in the words of the designer, it is “an ode to all the women who fought for their freedom back then and all those who fight today, every day, for a fairer world now and in the future.”
In order to embody this sensual power, Andrés Sardá looked back to the French Revolution and divided the collection into four parts. The first designs are made from simple materials and have a very sophisticated touch. The colors vary from greens to chocolate. The most prominent items are raffia bustiers and silk tulle sleeves.
The second part of the collection is focused on power, military power to be exact. Over the knee boots, French military hats and other warlike accessories set a powerful note. Blue silk and haute couture lace in burgundy is a popular color combination and symbolizes the collective power of women.
Last but not least, Andrés Sardá takes is to the French bourgeoisie. The designs start of with elegant pastel tones, transparencies, silk and organza. But slowly grown into more explosive designs with gold, black and navy blue in velvet, lace, satin and tulle.
The most impressive elements of the ´Revolution´ collection are the theatrical crinolines, puffed sleeves and petticoats. Furthermore, the quality is absolutely outstanding with materials such as french silk, chantilly lace and Swarovski crystals. Andrés Sardá proves it´s top position in the Spanish fashion world once again, we are hooked!
