Paris, France – This month the Paris couture season sees Israeli couturier Idan Cohen cast his creative hat into this elite field of dreams.
At his showing, Idan Cohen wasted no time in establishing the reasons for which he came to Paris. His new collection for Fall Winter 2017/18 exemplifies his creative talents for cut, color and fit. He skilfully employs them in the crafting of his body of work that includes sheers, silks, velvet, modern laces, sequins, crystals and a hint of crepe. The result is a small, but uniquely sensible and cohesive collection that features evening gowns, outer wear and cocktail dresses.
Idan Cohen seems to excel more in the shorter dresses, which are more eye-catching than the long gowns. And of course, the jackets that he made are expertly crafted. One need only to refer his eyes to the work that went into the creation of the shoulders in each of the two jackets. Cohen has been quite attentive in recognizing that women always need strong shoulders. Afterall it is a well-known fact that as a woman ages, her shoulders are always the last to change. And therefore, exquisite shoulder work is necessary in garments for making women of all ages sublime. Idan Cohen has accepted that challenge with great zest and energy.
