Paris, France – If you are not careful, you may get the impression that the Ellery presentation for the season to come is over in the quickest blink of the eye. This is because the collection moves at a rhythm that coincides so well with the principle of something new that one regrets that the collection is not bigger.
In its Spring/Summer 2018 body of work, Ellery focuses on black, white, yellow and silver to make its statement. According to its voice, the season will be filled with excitable contrasts brought together in harmony under its creative attentive. We fine silk, cotton and denim turned into pieces that hold tight to the body while others are super structured with oversizing. This cannot be more apparently clear than when one compares the ruffled tube tops to the wide-shoulders of the boxy shaped jackets. Angles appear in the color of some printed blouses. They are long and skinny. Then we see volume expressed in the balloon sleeves of some of the blouses. And when a blouse is not the main point, Ellery still allows you to have the balloon sleeves that can be worn as simple accessories.
Sequins, metallic silk and the brilliance of patent leather also bring some flash and shimmer. Overall once all has been said and done, Ellery presents a very strong and dynamic collective for the season.
