Paris, France – The inspiration behind the new collection at Sirloin started when the house’s artistic directors headed to Miami for what they consider to be the perfect vacation. There they drew comparisons between China’s current day Tu Hao culture and that of prosperity as expressed in Miami during the 1990s. They see in it a certain consumerism that comes in the age of wealth. From here came for the idea of their new collection around the ideas of new money rich people, big failures, and huge financial successes.
The Spring/Summer 2018 collection has a colorful and unassuming color palette. The silhouettes are practical, approachable and include pieces and looks that can be broken down into individual garments for further combination possibilities. The materials are comfortable and include cotton, jerseys and silks. They have been constructed in a way where the full movement is given to the wearer. The colors of yellow, pastel blues and the prints appear in blouses and other pieces. They also repurposed and used as the lining of coats. In the end we have a commercial collection that fits effortlessly into the busy lifestyle of active young women.
