Paris, France – Once again Lebanese couturier Georges Chakra delights the whole of the couture world with his creative genius. His new collection for Spring/Summer 2014 is an expression of innovation and of new possibilities for today’s couture client.
Chakra begins the collection with beautiful white silhouettes with geometrically cut panels removed. Showing the flesh at the shoulders and beneath the collarbone, he makes the woman modern and exciting with his above the knee cut dresses.
He begins strong with a swimwear-inspired dress in crepe has a micro-bust joined to the rest of the dress through beautiful mid-section reveal sheer. The look has beautiful touch-details and is completed with a cocktail coat. Other silhouettes include asymmetrically cut pieces moving from the hip into round edges. One such look is done in gold leaflet lace.
As the collection moves forward, he takes us into brilliantly hued tones of green, pink, yellow made excited with crystals and sequins. This portion of the collections has tops with geometric panels cut from the back and collarbone. The tops are put together with large and voluminously cut short shirts.
The biggest source of surprises come in the section in which we find short silhouettes and even jumpsuits cut in metallic pastels. They have plenty of lift, as the fabrics are nearly as light as air. These silhouettes lead us into the triumphant end of the collection. There we find beautiful gowns with floor sweeping tails.
