Paris, France – After a successful presentation six months ago signed by Christian Lacroix, the legendary Schiaparelli made it return with its first show in since 1954. Now under the permanent artistic direction of Italian designer, Marco Zanini, the collection is crafted around the values of elegance and irreverence. It embodies the spirit of the women for whom Elsa Schiaparelli designed, but with the character of today’s busy, multi-tasking socialites, who are busy wives, run businesses and chair important charitable associations.
The collection is a clever cocktail of both simple silhouettes and soft draping that are each contrasted by elaborately crafted volumes in second pieces such as in the sleeves for the first, and structured jackets for the latter. It is replete with hand-painted prints and ornate embroideries. It boasts of contrasts between beautifully tinted pastels and subtle neutral colors. Flat shoes like crocodile skin sandals crown the silhouettes.
Of the most heroic looks, we find a beautiful large skirt in polka dots worn with a matching short-sleeved shirt. The collection.
