Novi Sad, Serbia – Serbian couturier Marija Sabic surprises us this season with a collection tailored to the tastes of the active woman. Of course lace is her fabric leitmotif. But uses it to start her outing for the Fall Winter 2014/15 season with powerful suits.
Upon review, it is apparent that Sabic lacks a bit of technic in the construction of her shoulders. This flaw concerns the more structured pieces such as the suit jacket. However the lapse does not prevent the collection from being extremely convincing.
Among the white, ecru and cream tones, Mrs. Sabic tosses in those much needed and appreciated hints of colors. And hers are powerful and include forest green, red and royal blue. They are all punctuated with crystals, pearls and beadings for the most formal of occasions.
With all said and done, Marija Sabic proves so easily she understands the importance of creating work that compliments the female form.
