Lisbon, Portugal – Alexandra Moura had broadened her fashion horizons as she experiments with new inspirations. It is a most welcomed change to her universe.
The new work has a maturity that her previous work seemed to greatly lack. Her black silhouettes have the urban appeal that she usually strives for. However this season, we see them as being more sophisticated. Or dare one even say commercial?
She has created for Spring/Summer 2015 looks and pieces in oil slick black sheen. They include pants worn with long, sleeveless shirts that are paired with short-sleeved shirts. The result is a nicely layered look. She is also working with lots of denim this season, which also include double-faced, two-toned denim with versatility.
The men’s silhouettes have doubled pleated waistlines. Denim too invades the male wardrobe in an unexpected look. We see jeans worn with a top that is ruffled up and down. Once the huge outer cuffs are formed, we see dark denim revealed against the sky blue denim. Some is used to created baggy shorts.
The most interested looks appear in the designer’s use of exaggerated perforations. She uses it to craft dresses with form, two-pieces ensembles for women and shorts and a hooded coat for men. Though this is definitively the shortest section of the collection, it is the one that has the most to offer in terms of pushing fashion forward.
