Lodz, Poland-Claudia Danna is one of the designers who showed her collection during the opening gala of the Polish Fashion Week. Primal, sporty, extravagant and really modern, it reminds me of the work of the likes of Givenchy and Alexander McQueen.
The inspiration for the collection is the coexistence of mother nature and the synthetic feeling about the future of our planet. The silhouettes seemed really symmetrical but still really dynamic, sporty in a dramatic way. Although most of the pieces seemed stiff changing the human body some where pretty delicate thanks to the draping over the body seeming delicate.
The new Spring/Summer 2015 collection has a wild, fierce feeling combined with clear, futurist metallics and tribal prints. Both are strong trends at the moment. The fabrics used in the collection are woven, jersey, leather, neoprene and cotton. The combination of natural and technical fibers give the collection an even stronger feel.
The colors used are mostly black and white, grey, and chromium silver with a touch of blue and green. I liked the idea of vegetal prints in the synthetic fabrics. The looks combined many thing which at first don’t add up. Heavy, combined textures on blouses with draping, loose pants. Many complexities at once. A simple white blouse even got more dramatic paired with sharp metallic bottoms. Other things that grabs my attention are the funny backpacks.
We see looks with an overall sporty, modern and clean look. I really loved the prints on the clothes ending the show. They are edgy and even animalistic.
The designer likes to toy with form and disharmony, which makes her stand out. It takes a strong mind to combine opposites. Claudia did it in a great way.
