Warsaw, Poland – Warsaw Fashion Weekend has announced that it will officially become the Mercedes-Benz Warsaw Fashion Weekend. The new official edition take place from May 15 – 17, 2015 at the Warsaw Soho Factory.
With the agreement Warsaw joins over 30 world capitals and metropolitan cities, where fashion shows take place under the Mercedes-Benz brand. Preparations for this highly anticipated event in Polish fashion have already began.
Of the new partnership, Niels Kowolik Mercedes-Benz C.E.O in Poland says, “Fashion and design are one of the most important areas of Mercedes-Benz marketing strategy. They fit perfectly in the tradition and present of the brand that is known for its co-operation with the organizers of the most important fashion events around the world. Mercedes-Benz is a partner of such widely known projects like New York and Berlin Fashion Week. Thanks to the state of the art technology, elegance and refined design our models are predestined in the fashion industry“.
On the specific choice of Warsaw Dr. Ewa Łabno-Falęcka, who is the communications director at Mercedes-Benz Poland, explained on the relationship, “In our history spanning nearly 20 years, we have supported many individual fashion shows and for a few years we have worked with the organizers of the “Fashion Oscars”. During the summer, the Stacja Mercedes hosted a few niche fashion events and we hace been also invited to cooperate with leading Polish designers. So we thought it might be worth to coordinate our events and combine them during the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Warsaw. We hope that our invitation will be well received by Polish designers“.
According to Natalia Głowacka, producer of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Warsaw 2015, working with such a prestigious car brand will not only improve the status of the event, but also place Warsaw on the fashion world map. Mercedes-Benz, the most valuable premium brand is constantly following the international fashion industry and supports the most important events.
“Warsaw is one of the most dynamic metropolitan areas in Europe. It is an important buisness and cultural hub. It is about time to show the world the works of talented Polish designers. Next year we will enter the elite group of capitol cities that set global trends. New opportunities could arise for Polish desiagners“- explains Natalia Głowacka.
Mercedes-Benz is involved worldwide in the most prestigious fashion events in cities like New York, Berlin, Instanbul, Moscow and Zurich. Warsaw Fashion Weekend will also have a global reach. The idea behind this event is to present collection not only Polish, but also designers from other Europe countries. “The presence of Mercedes-Benz is a motivation for us to create a party with greater momentum, which will gain international recognition”- says the producer of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend Warsaw 2015.
Even 6 months before it’s start at the Soho Factory in Warsaw, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Weekend is already attracting considerable interest among designers and journalists. By the 22th of January 2015 the memebrs of the Programme Board will be revealed.
In addition to the shows in Soho Factory the event will also have an “out of town” component. Warsaw boutiques will be invited to cooperate and selling points will appear on the streets in the the form of pop-up shops and showrooms, where the clothes and accessories will be available to buy. For the sake of promoting new designers, a competition to design a collection inspired by Formula 1 will start soon.
Any fashion event under the partnership of Mercedes-Benz requires presence of foreign designers from various European countries. A series of accompanying enets is also considered like breakfast for the fashion bloggers.
