Lisbon, Portugal – In what turns out to be his most surprising work in years, Miguel Vieira presented a shockingly toned down collection for the Spring/Summer 2015 season. One must admit to being somewhat taken aback by it upon first glance.
First Vieira attacked the season with a very simple color palette of black, white and lilac. Due to his choice to promote his athletic footwear line by having the models step out in them instead of stilettos and with practically no jewelry accessories, the silhouettes appear underwhelming upon first look. They include simple tank top dresses, sleeveless dresses, shorts ensembles and suits. The only dramatic pieces in the collection are the designer’s dresses with plunging V necklines.
From an aesthetic point of view, the collection does have the Miguel Vieira DNA. However from a commercial point of view, the simplified presentation of the collection helps to set forth a different but very real and authentic aspect of the Miguel Vieira woman.
