Novi Sad, Serbia – Bosnian designer Belma Tvico sees Spring/Summer 2015 as an occasion to wear black gowns with black sheer to cover the modesties; lots of lace and silvery embellishments. She uses the color throughout the collection to bring back uniformity when the idea seems to get lost among the others.
Though she uses white velvet in a simply cut dress, the colors then start to amuck with no apparent defining purpose for their presence.
In terms of the shapes, the designer focuses mostly on fitted looks that bear the neckline, arms, shoulders and at times the legs. The collection’s failing comes in the form of the poor fits. That does not mean that the garments were poorly cut and made. It is more of a suggestion that the designer could invest more effort in her fittings. Because once the clothes hit the catwalk, that’s is where the lasting impression will be made.
Tvico’s work with that sees her putting emerald green sequins on her black backdrop is perhaps the most interesting work done. But it is the black cocktail dress with green sequins in 3 tones is perhaps the most interesting. But it is the jumpsuit with lace back and arms that gets this writer’s top approval.
