Paris, France – This writer has had a long-standing opinion that “too much is not enough”. This is a belief that I hold dearly to my heart. And it would appear Donatella Versace also shares my position on the matter. One look at her explosive new Atelier Versace Spring/Summer 2015 collection is all the proof that is required.
This season, Donatella has planned for us a robust collection of sexy suits, dresses and gowns in black, blue, white, red and nude with just a tip of the hate to silver. They feature amazing and daring peekaboo cut outs that reveal the flesh at the sides, the hips, the stomach, the bias, etc. Donatella is also making the flare legs of pivotal importance for the season.
For this year’s Spring/Summer 2015 collection, she brought back to the catwalk for a rare appearance supermodel Eva Herzigova and the actress/supermodel Amber Valetta. Not having lost any of their magic, they were stunning in the gowns that will set the couture world on fire.
“Couture is like a laboratory, where you can explore ideas and clash materials with complete creative freedom”, declared Donatella Versace of the Spring/Summer 2015 collection. “Experimentation and elegance is what couture means in the 21st century.”
Sitting front row at the even were Oscar-winning actress Goldie Hawn and her daughter, the Oscar-nominated Kate Hudson. Hudson could have taken to the runway herself as she wore a flashy, red dress that featured the peekaboo cutouts that defines the summer look for Atelier Versace. Her dress is a SLIGHTLY more modest, knee-length version of the daring red gown worn in the show by Eva Herzigova.
This collection with its silk crepe and sheer fabrics and eye-catching audacity has just ensured that the name Versace will be heavily mentioned on the red carpets in North America during the film awards ceremony season.
