Paris, France – In the true spirit of the laboratory of thought where fashion could one day take us, Serkan Cura presented a creative couture collection for the Spring/Summer 2015 season. Dominated by lots of fur and Swarovski elements, one can easily see how the designer is causing quite a positive stir of energy around his work.
Fluffy fur is used in the creation in a majority of the outfits. Swarovski crystal elements are also used to energize the looks. Not only do the two appear in the silhouettes, but also in the accessories such as the matching backpacks and fur-clad shoes.
The first silhouette is composed of pants and a short-cropped coat in light grey. A dress in raspberry cotton candy soon followed. This is the overall look of the pieces in the collection.
In one silhouettes, a corset is worn over a cat suit. The suit is done in feathers, whereas the corset is made from rough and natural suede.
Bondage is a real theme in the collection too. Cura has created total looks composed of strings. The first bears the midriff through the short jacket with long sleeves. Like the jacket, the slim trousers are completely composed of strings. The crowning look from the strings is the long black dress, which has been built upon a finely done corset. It is finished with lace, feathers and crystals.
Though the collection is exciting and a true pleasure to see, there are the occasional imperfections.
Cura has created a cracked ice ensemble in light gold. It is worn with corset with crystal and pearl encrusted embroideries. Unfortunately the look reveals the designer’s weakness in tailoring as seen in his flawed shoulder work, which lacks greatly in mastery of technique.
