Paris, France – French couture house Loris Azzaro takes us to the desert for the inspiration behinds its new collection Spring/Summer 2015 couture collection. There we find all the mystery and color of the sand lands like the Sahara and Nairobi deserts infused with subtlety into the details and expressed in the colors.
Azzaro starts strong with an ensemble composed of amply cut pants and a long cape in sand tone. The cape leaps from the shoulders and drops down both the back and legs before going on to sweep the floor. It is completed with a countless amount of gold chains. The following look is a short-cut dress also in sand tone. And its matching ostrich feathers capture the delicate movements of the wind.
After the brief appearance of yellow, the collection goes into pure white. This starts of course with a caped look. From there we see another gown with a large cape as well. Its shape is very similar to that of a sand colored dress in which we fine no cape. It is simply long, sleeveless and has vertically placed curve cutouts, which are known staples in Azzaro’s aethetics.
This writer certainly appreciates the looks that feature pants. They are extremely feminine. One such voluminous pants – cut and turned like minimalist wallet – features a poncho-inspired top that is in black knit. It is something as it falls from one shoulder, while it clings to life from the other shoulder.
The navy blue section is a crowd pleasure. Here we see the return of the ostrich feathers on the bustier of one look. Worn with a set of wallet trousers, it has a matching large handbag in the same navy tone. The bag is too embellished with the ostrich feathers.
When the dust settled after the appearance of the last silhouette, it was apparent to all that Loris Azzaro had provided the perfect ending to a fairytale week of haute couture creativity and over the top glamour.
