Lodz, Poland – Amaya Arzuaga proposes for Fall Winter 2015/16 a truly stunning collection that is so true to her signature style.
The properties of the materials are used to form stiff and crisp silhouettes. Although sculpted, even statuesque, there is fluidity in form of drapes and circular shapes. Origami inspired details form unusual graphic lines, diagonal, straight, asymmetric, wavy and complex. The dresses, skirts, pants, capes and jackets are mostly A-line, bell or trapeze shaped. Some have substantial flares or ruffles at the bottom.
The garments look really modern, minimalistic but still showing the drama with sharp detailing. Each piece develops the body, changes it to a rather futuristic and mysterious piece of architecture.
The main color is black, but cream, wine, aqua and indigo are also present. Most of the sets are of one solid color, but some prefer 2 or 3 color blocks. The lengths are mini, midi or maxi. The accessories are reduced to only ankle boots.
It’s great to see that the designer is faithful to her idea of a woman’s fashion mixing harsh angles with soothing fluidity.
