St. Petersburg, Russia – From April 2 – 5, 2015 and under the patronage of Fashion Syndicate St. Petersburg, the St. Petersburg Fashion Week will present the new catwalk collection for the Fall Winter 2015-2016 season at the Aleksandrinsky Theatre’s New Stage. With this the city of “Saint Pete” will once again become the cultural capital of Russia picks up the baton of fashion events continuing world calendar of such events.

This season, St. Petersburg Fashion Week is presenting collections of leading Russian designers, young and promising debutants, successful Russian commercial brands and the collection of international guest designers. Amid the Fashion Week there will be organized educational program, evening events and professional presentations.

As of this edition the St. Petersburg Fashion Week is supported by Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. Secretary of state, deputy minister of MIT of the Russian Federation Victor Evtukhov has emphatically stated that the implementation of such events “favours the promotion and popularisation of Russian fashion industry and light” industry. Also Victor Leonidovich is planning to visit and to be a spokesman of the opening press-conferential of St. Petersburg Fashion Week.

The forthcoming fashion season St. Petersburg Fashion Week will open the new point on the fashion map of the city – The New Stage of the Aleksandrinsky Theatre. This is the most modern and most technically equipped theatre stage in Russia. It’s main point of activity is adoption of innovative technologies into the theatre practice. Placed next to the Aleksandrinsky Theatre building between the Ostrovsky square and the Fontanka embankment, the complex is accurately inscribed into the historical urban environment.

The strategic partnership between the Saint-Petersburg Fashion Syndicate and the Aleksandrinsky Theatre creates a synthesis of contemporary art and fashion into the interactive dialogue with audience capable of reaching synergetic effect now and in the future.

By extension of geography of collaboration in the international media, St. Petersburg Fashion Week has reached the agreements on informational partnership with the major French fashion periodical – TheFashionInsider.com. Its editor-in-chief Marcellous L. Jones will visit in person SPbFW shows Fall-Winter 2015-2016.

Another important creative partnership in the new season became collaboration for creating SPbFW image with young and gifted fashion-illustrator Jay Suk Kim from Seoul. The largest fashion houses like Dolce & Gabbana and Valentino have already warmly embraced his creativity and original style. In addition, Jay Suk Kim in his portfolio has works for Bloomingdales, Style.com Korea, Vogue Russia,Korea, Vogue Girl, GQ.

As Jay Suk Kim himself says in his collaboration with St.Petersburg Fashion Week he wanted to combine courage and attraction of Russian fashion that he saw during his recent travel to Moscow with the unique DNA of our city. His vision of the St.Petersburg Fashion Week image is a reflection of abundant cultural and historical Saint Petersburg’s heritage connected with modern fashion and Russian fashion-community self-identification.

tim083Within five days of the official timetable more than 35 collections will be exposed, there will be regular SpbFW residents among them – Vladimir Bukhinnik, Anna Ovchinnikova, Polina Raudson, Harlen Fashion House, Fabric Fancy, Milla Berillo, Iya Yots, and also international guests from Austria, Italy and the Belarus designer Apti Eziev, who also successfully presented his collection during SPbFW last season.

By the extension of the professional collaboration formats St. Petersburg Fashion Week will present shows by leading beauty-brands – TONI&GUY and L’Oreal.

Saint-Petersburg Fashion Syndicate continues to implement a number of projects in the frames of support and development of the fashion industry of Saint Petersburg. Assignment of grants on participating in the Fashion Week for the young and promising designers who are presenting their collection to the wide audience for the first time traditionally has become one of the projects. In the new season the opportunity to present their collections on the professional podium was given to MED by Olga Medvedeva, MPM (My Purple Mood), UOT LENA MAKSIMOVA, Qnarik Javadian (QNARIQ), Maria Sukhomlinova (SUMANI), by Nataly Erohkina, Olga Gubina.

Also Sobaka.ru journal with the assistance of Fashion Syndicate St. Petersburg will present the winners from ‘The New Names in Design’ competition. The 10 winners of the online vote and of the choice of the expert commission headed by the editor-in-chief Yana Miloradovskaya will will be allowed to present their collections within the showcase on the SPbFW podium. And only one of them, who will be chosen by St. Petersburg Fashion Week creative director Nikita Kondrushenko himself, will be able to make an independent full-fledged show amid the forthcoming St. Petersburg Fashion Week.

Traditionally supporting professional education in the city fashion-industry SPbFW and Fashion Syndicate also gives the opportunity to present their graduation collections to the best designer schools – to the costume design department of Saint-Petersburg State University of the services and Economics, to the International School of Design and to Mod Art St.Petersnurg.

All the collections are strictly selected and are preliminary presented for the professional viewing that is implemented by the SPbFW creative director – Nikita Kondrushenko.

St.Petersburg Fashion Week continues to pay attention to the professional educational program in the city fashion-industry that will be presented by a number of world-class specialists and implemented with the assistance of the fashion institute Mod’Art St.Petersburg. Everyone is welcome to visit the program for free.

Official St.Petersburg Fashion Week unites the most active and professional fashion industry participants’ resources in Saint-Petersburg. The event is in the official calendar of the Cultural Committee and the Saint-Petersburg Government.
