Novi Sad, Serbia – Mladen Milivojevic’s Fall Winter 2015 Baron collection is full of surprises. If one spends time with the flamboyant designer, one would expect to see a truly extravagant collection, particularly for women. However, he designs something altogether far different from what one would expect of him based solely on his personality.
In the women’s wear, we see the designer taking a resolutely more sophisticated turn to his creations this season. The shapes are closely cut to the body. He reveals the arms and the shoulders only at times, as he generally tends to cover them. But he always honors the female form in the way in which it should be. We find just hints of sequins as embellishments.
Baron also creates shot cocktail dresses for dinner and for parties. One is done in beige, with just a hint of beaded tassels at the end. Both the back and the neckline are V form.
It would be remiss of one to think that lace would not make an appearance in the collection at some point. And of course it does in the end of the collection. Milivojevic uses it as embellishments on the sleeves and on the neckline. He also creates lace prints in a two-piece skirt set. And he ends the event with a lovely wedding dress. It is conservative, and has a lovely veil. It is not pretentious as many would suspect for a wedding.
