Paris, France – Spring/Summer 2016 sees fashion house Les Hommes heading into new waters with their style aesthetic. And it has found inspiration in the surfer culture as way to broaden the horizons of its traditional clientele. And they have decided to spice things up with more street wear and sportswear than ever before.
First of no collection at Les Hommes could ever be considered as “Les Hommes” without a few of their exquisitely cut suits. This season they will be well present with their slim cuts and thin lapels. However, the huge surprise here is the prints are being used to further their cosmopolitan appeal. Normally one would never expected to see the house depart so far from a monochromatic palette for formal wear. However, here we see that life is filled with rich surprises.
It comes as no shock that black dominates and is highlighted by hints of white. But the use of such a vivid red is a large surprise.
In distinguishing the collection artistic directors Tom Notte and Bart van de Bosche are relying upon silk jacquards, leathers, geometric forms and 3D laser cuts appliqués. Together they combine to give a tribal touch to the surf inspirations. They are further jazzed up with rugged shoes and thick socks.
