Paris, France – Sergio Corneliani has taken a remarkable turn from the over-the-top elegance to which he has accustomed his favorite fans. This season we find a Corneliani collection that sees the designer thinking about vacation time.
The new Spring/Summer 2016 collection is dominated by shades of blue and variations of tans. He uses them as the backbone of his color palette that later opens up to integrate cherry tones too.
The suits are leisurely cut. They are well tailored, yet remained extremely décontracté and certainly when compared to the work that Corneliani generally reserves for his clients. The fact that is proposing lots of shorts and t-shirts too add to this spirit of, “Go away! I’m busy relaxing”.
The styling in the collection is perfect. Through it one sees the many ways one can wear the shorts and pants that are punctuated with a single pleat and button, the printed windbreaker, the short-sleeved tops in knits, the unlined long coats and the leather t-shirts. This is brought about through the subtle inclusion of the neck scarves, thin belts.
Corneliani also proposes large leather bags which not only compliment his favorite blue in the collection, but also the lace up dress shoes and sandals. And in the end we find a wind of fresh air blowing the wardrobe of the Corneliani man.
