Paris, France – Combining art and fashion the label Andrea Crews presented a Spring/Summer 2016 collection that is inspired by martial arts.
The collection feels 90s with vivid colours, strong prints, visible usage of logos and the inspiration from Karate Kid. For the author the logos and prints, there is a huge sense of pride and of belonging to a specific group. The collection is modern, simple in form, gender-bending at times, sporty, yet complex with the printed details. Like the majority of work for 2016 the looks are androgynous, but not in that calm and serene manner. Here everything is sharp, dynamic and edgy.
The work of the designer consists of robes, shorts, cropped tops, pants, t-shirts and jackets. The garments are laser-cut and made with modern Jacquard and neoprene. The colors are black & white, with some vivid blue, orange, red, green and yellow.
The clothes as a whole are more directed for the younger crowd interested in modern, edgy streetwear inspired with Kabuki, martial arts and Manga touch.
