Paris, France – In the new Fall Winter 2015/16 Atelier Versace takes a dramatic and colorful turn in their style aesthetic. In this season we still find many of the codes that we associate to the the house, yet transformed and more “down to earth” in the way that they are expressed.
Donatella imbues the collection with lots of skin-tight pants, leg-revealing short dresses and corseted tops. In spite of the quick appearance of red and orange, we do not find the overt flashiness that normally defines the work. Instead we find beautiful fabrics in a kaleidoscope of toned-down colors such as greens, blush and lilac. Onto them they have embroideries and other fine details.
Yes of curse there are some light-capturing elements such as a few crystals here and a handful of sequins there. But they are buried under the impulsion to promote a more natural feeling this season. This writer has an affection for feather. The Atelier collection proposes hand-ripped silks that mimic the look of soft plumes.
It is interested to note that last season the house championed the flare-legged pants. However this season that shape has been transported to the sleeves of the dresses ! And the high-heels and boots are built upon thick platform soles.
