Paris, France – High tea and all that goes along with it are the inspiring thoughts behind the new Georges Hobeika couture collection for Fall Winter 2015/16. From the first silhouette to the last, ELEGANCE is the key word. The full collection is nothing less than a composition of everything exquisite.
Hobeika opens the collection with a sleeveless white top and pink shell skirt with generous amounts of embroideries appliqués. The next look see pink return in trousers and with a sleeveless top in pink with embroideries and appliqués. These are the keys to understanding what would follow.
The embroideries would go on to be seen throughout the collection as they highlight the massive quantities of silhouettes crafted in guipure and silk shantung. They appear to pass between elegance, embroideries, and simple cuts.
One of the favorite looks from the cocktail dresses is the short half-thigh length dress in blue. Its back finishes with a deep plunging V panel removed to display the skin. It has sleeves like a T-shirt. The dress is finished with the embroideries.
Hobeika’s collection is replete with beautiful floor-length and floor-sweeping lines. Among the first to catch this writer’s attention is the beautiful pink sleeveless diamond-back cutout with red appliqués. And the couturier is crafty including some of his supreme pantsuits. His done in silk shantung is FLAWLESS with the trousers being cut just to the ankles.
