Lodz, Poland – The 80’s are back in fashion in the new men’s collection by Vivienne Westwood!
The mood of the new work is full of contrast etno, tribal influences mixed with urban and even some old school yuppie styling. Starting from sexy cropped tops with provocative thong to perfectly tailored suits, the emphasis is the climate change and rebellion against the mainstream. The garments feel really European and light-weight. They are ideal for spring/summer in the Mediterranean.
True to the signature British style, we find wicked touches and high energy. One can see a diverse, eclectic selection of prints, colors, details and sometimes mismatched garments to keep the eye in excitement. The clothes themselves range from suits with pointy lapels, over-sized shirts, skinny or voluminous pants, parkas, vests, shredded knitwear all single colored, printed and in different lengths.
The prints are checks, pinstripes, chunky horizontal stripes, florals and leopard. The color palette used is divided into the pieces more subtle in beige, blush, white and more strong, striking red, military green, black and sunset orange. The fabrics are wool’s, denim, jersey, leather, cotton and technical fabrics. A superb selection of accessories added more flair to the collection with the eye-catching gladiator sandals, bags, derby shoes, necklaces, bandannas, document cases and aviator glasses.
As a whole Westwood makes a strong statement with this collection aimed to a larger group of customers that ranges from the rebel walking the streets to those in suits fighting in the business world.
