Lodz, Poland – Designer Cary Santiago showed his new work during Fashion Week New York. The Spring/Summer 2016 collection consists of long dresses, a jumpsuit and an armour inspired bodysuit with a fishtail. Although glamorous because of the usage of brilliant satin, details and graphic sheers, the work does at time border on being overdone. Maybe the clients in Arabic countries enjoy that kind of drama, but there’s a fine line between drama being done just right and overdone.

The colors used are deep coffee brown, royal purple, aqua, coral and metallic silver. The dresses are draped and cascade downwards. Some are composed of see-through sheer materials, while others move with the silhouette solid fabrics. Much detail is focused on the shoulders with many details, plunging necklines and stripes. The materials are also gathered at the hip. They result is a composition of sculpted and feminine silhouettes. The sheer garments have many details in forms of faces and baroque, rich ornaments.
