New York City, USA – Jeremy Scott’s new collection for Spring/Summer 2016 is a whimsical and retro affair that takes us back from the mid to the late 1960’s. That mod is the work here in his mini-dress inspirations that rocked the era. The designer gives them lots of colors and embellishments such are flat circle pieces. He created two -piece ensembles featuring bikini-style tops and which are paired with skirts. And of course there are th two-piece bikini sets too.
The super short dresses first remind of us the scandalous dress made and worn by supermodel Jean Shrimpton in 1965. This is what launched the very first mini-dress during a horse derby in Australia. Sorry Courrèges for this historical fact! Then we find patches put together in a way that recalls of Paco Rabanne.
Scott leaves out the retro style boots from the era. However, he brings in the hair that is typical of the time. And he superbly accessories the looks with large bracelets and eyewear! When all is said and done, we get that excited tingle as we did as kids when we first saw the femme bots in the Austin Powers movie.
