New York City, USA – American designer Marc Jacobs is well back into his elements now at home again in New York City. The new Spring/Summer 2016 collection is an extremely visual and exciting work with a twist of pop culture.
Marc Jacobs focuses primarily on all tones of red, white and blue. He brings out the deepest hues of the first even going so far to use candy apple red. With white as the glue between the three, that leaves him free to bring in blue from the most profound midnight shades of it, to the lightest pastel incarnations of it. He applies this backdrop to his exciting silhouettes of letterman jackets, tight pants, baggy trousers, see-through tops, etc. They are composed in wools, laces, silks, jerseys, etc.
Jacobs has embellished greatly the collection with appliqués, printed faces, patches on the jackets, bows at the neck of the blouses, embroideries and a healthy dose of David Bowie-punk inspired shoes with high, block heels. And his bags and purses form with the variety of shoe styles the foundation of the accessories.
