Milan, Italy – Okay. Let’s get to it. This writer is far from being a fan of the new women’s ready-to-wear collection by Italian fashion house Iceberg. Rather than a full principal collection for Spring/Summer 2016, it looks more like a cruise/resort collection that would logically precede the main event.
No doubt the stripe in it many incarnations form the leitmotif behind the visual work. Beyond that we find rope cords at the neckline of the tops with large late 1960s early 1970’s inspired collars. These cords go on to appear endlessly in other places such as the outer seams of the pants and on the sleeves of the knits tops.
Here Iceberg is pushing the flair leg cut for its trousers and pants. Sorry but this is not a trend that is going to take root. Versace Atelier successfully surprised us in January 2015 with its flair leg cut in its pants in that Spring/Summer 2015 collection. And yes, a few houses desperate and thirsty enough to get in on the trend quickly followed suit in their ready-to-wear collections that the presented just weeks later.
Please abandon trying to make the flair leg a hot trend. Jesus, Moses and Mohamed want y’all to simply let this go. And so do I !!!
