Lodz, Poland- The Golden Thread with its rich tradition of launching young designers has returned with its finale. This launched the X edition of Manufaktura Fashion Week. This years winner is none other than Joanna Organisciak.
Well known for its tradition of promoting new talent, many now well-known Polish designers got their start in this very competition. As the quality of the collections was so hight, the judges had a very hard time to declare the winner from among the 11 finalist collections. The designers showed a diverse variety of points of view on fashion. Yet most of the works where wearable, up-to-date with current trends and easily sellable. One could see both abstract colorful patchwork and sharp, minimalistic tailoring.
The stakes were high with prizes from the partners: Top Secret, Pop Up Story, Coats and Black Red White.
As the winner of this year’s Golden Thread competition, Organisciak will intern at Top Secret and her collection will be sold at Pop Up Story. The collection by Magdalena Orzel will be presented during Lviv Fashion Week at the end of October. The two other prizes went to Anna Tronowska for her “Partytura spojrzen” and Martyna Sobczak’s “Masscity“. The honorable award to Katarzyna Sokolowska. The evening ended with the presentation of the a show by MMC Studio.
The presentations show an optimistic view on the development of Polish fashion there’s many talents here.
