Lviv, Ukraine – Damn it! Roksolana Bogutska had the pleasure of closing the Lviv Fashion Week with the presentation of her dazzling new collection for Spring/Summer 2016.
As a journalist, this writer enjoys her work immensely. I also hate having to write about her shows because I would much rather be like any other spectator who is allowed to watch the show, appreciate each silhouette and just be in the moment. (UN)Fortunately, mine is the plight to write about her work for all to relive the moment through my words. So here I am writing about the collection of Ukraine’s best known designer to have not yet conquered Paris.
Bogutska starts with a parade of femininity that is takes our imagination so high that we can literally smell the richness of her spicy colors. She assaults us with beautiful tweeds, silks, velvet, wools, Prince of Wales and furs! Her secret to success is that she takes sex appeal, Ukrainian folklore, culture and energy into one melting pot. She then cast her magical spell to create an image of a woman so powerful, so sexy, and so stylish that it defies logic. With her parade of ethnically printed dresses, she has created a time warp in which sexy black attire coexists with long maxi-skirts, high boots, thin belts etc. And I simply cannot get enough of her tuxedo-style jumpsuit in Canali striped navy blue.
Roksolana Bogutska is a master technician. You will not find a single crooked hem in her work. Her eye is as fine as that of any bird of prey. And like them, she devours every challenge presented to her as she moves forward in the effort to offer refinement, color, energy, youth and style.
To my readers, I must offer my apologies. I want to enjoy the collection. So I say to each of you, LOOK AT THE PHOTOS OF THE ENTIRE COLLECTION because this writer is going to enjoy the rest of the show !!!!
