Paris, France – The seventies’ idea of freedom and cool is so present in the work for Spring/Summer 2016 by the Belgian designer Veronique Leroy.
It is clearly a well-imagined collection whose purpose is to focus to fulfill the needs of a classical, retro loving girl. You think of the style icon Brigitte Bardot or maybe a quiet girl, you’ve seen in a library. It has the magic and frivolousness of the 70’s in one place. We don’t see anything sensationally innovative just the retrospective on an intellectual and sexy fashion. By the term sexy, I don’t think of being direct, just the allure of a peek-a-boo slit in a dress. The 70’s touches come in chunky stripes, wide belts, elegant lace, checks and pinstripes.
The skirts and dresses are defining the women’s figure and accentuate the with tulip, hip hugging details. There is some sporty, urban style touches with overalls, wide legged pants, bombers, shirts, thin straped tops, jackets and coats with big lapels.
The colors used are pleasant for the eye with khaki, chocolate-brown, light blue, white, grey, black, mustard and salmon pink. The accessories are belts, earrings and boots.
The collection is as a whole really wearable, proper and it can be a hit with the retailers world-wide. A must have if you look for cool and decent fashion. And this is a domain in which Veronique Leroy excels to perfection!
