Novi Sad, Serbia – Menswear designer Bosko Jakovljevic has created an incredibly solid collection for Spring/Summer 2016. In it we find things for the cosmopolitan guy, who has style and flair.
Jakovljevic starts his show by sending out streetwear geared towards the city dweller. The silhouettes are composed of leather jackets, sports trousers with embellished knees and jersey tops. The shirts are crew collars and are finished long with an asymmetrical line. Some of the tops have deep plunging V necklines. Leather is used in many of the trousers that the designer offers in this portion of the presentation. This is where he introduces his knitwear sweater tops and large scarves.
As the collection evolves the garments quickly become more formal. Here is where the designer sends forth a plethora of nicely tailored suits. Though the three-pocket blazers are similarly cut, the lapels are where the subtle variety begins to emerge. Some of the suit collars are extremely large, while others are dramatically slimmer in comparison.
At some point Jakovljevic finally introduces his paper suits. They are arguably some of the most eye-catching editorial pieces. They appear in white and recapture the main style themes of the collection. Yet instead of being in solid colors, they have lots of comic book prints on white and floral prints. And just after them the designer adds very nice prints into the suits.
