Novi Sad, Serbia – Picture this: energetic silhouettes all dominated by black. They are exciting, playful and intense. To this add a variety of materials ranging from tulle, silk, sequins and jersey to leather, lace, fur and feathers. Then apply them all to a diverse selection of feminine shapes that extend from cocktail and party dresses, to coat and to semi baggy trousers with tapered legs. These are the keys you need to fully understanding the new collection by Bata Spasojevic.
Though Spring/Summer 2016 is the season, the Serbian designer sees it as the time for showing up and being noticed. And in making it all happen, one could easily argue that the raven is the inspiration behind his new women’s collection. For him each moment of life has to be intense. Those occasions must be accompanied by the proper wardrobe. And that is exactly what he has succeeded in providing this season.
Bata Spasojevic accessorizes the looks this season with neck embellishments forged in feathers and fur. He adds lace gloves, brooches, micro-braided cord belts.
This is perhaps his best work for his women’s line in two years. When the dust settled it was clear that the designer had triumphed. And for his efforts, he was well rewarded with a thunderous round of applause as he came to the catwalk to take his bow before a very enthused and appreciative audience.
