Paris, France – As I escorted Phaedra, my jack russell terrier, down Boulevard St. Germain in Paris, I walked past the Vignes boutique. In the window I observed some of the most beautifully crafted handbags of the season. Vignes is a luxury handbag and accessories maker and whose headquarters is based in Nice, France. The house specializes in exotic skins. And this season, they called upon the talents of the grand couturier Christophe Josse in order to bring a new perspective to their craft.
The collection features handbags, large purses and clutches. One finds them in a variety of sizes and in skins ranging far beyond leather to include ostrich skin, crocodile and python. Each bag has benefited from the technical savoir-faire of the house. And Josse has imbued them with his optimism that is reflected in the cheerful colors of powdery blue, pastel mint green and mustard yellow.
