London, UK – The Wales Bonner collection for the Fall Winter 2016/17 is extremely retro. Upon first glance images from 1967-1968 Speed Racer cartoon automatically pop into mind. Then upon further examination one finds the spiritual muses: James Brown and Jimmy Hendrix.
Large, rounded-edge lapels and flare leg pants are the two most noticeable elements here. The waist is always small in order to create a more realistic, yet softer impression. Wales Bonner is using cottons, leather, denims, knits and velvets to bring this amusing and whimsical retro concept to life.
