London, UK – Today in London the Franco-British fashion pioneer Nathalie Massenet was made Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire. She received the honor and was invested by the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace.

Dame Massenet received the honor for her distinguished services to promoting and innovating the fashion and retail industries. She looked absolutely regal when she accepted the it while wearing a scarlet red wool crêpe peplum skirted suit by the now very in vogue British fashion and couture house, Ralph & Russo.

Dame Nathalie Massenet is the Chairman of the British Fashion Council. A former fashion journalist, she founded in 2000 the online luxury retailer Net-à-Porter.com, which is credited with making luxury ready-to-wear more readily accessible to the masses through online technologies.
